VALENTINE'S DAY 2022 | DO AS THE VICTORIANS DID THIS VALENTINE’S

VALENTINE'S DAY 2022 | DO AS THE VICTORIANS DID THIS VALENTINE’S

Historically, flowers and plants were used as a form of coded language, with different varieties symbolising different sentiments.

In the Victorian era, people referred to them as “talking bouquets”. People carried floral dictionaries to decipher the message and these “talking bouquets” were then often worn as a fashion accessory by the recipient to showcase to all, how someone felt about them.

We don’t expect our customers to be wearing their Valentine’s flowers (!), however after a turbulent two years, we at The Crate wanted to create a Valentine’s offering that covers something for all of the special people in our lives, that lets them know how much they mean to us.

We have curated a Valentine’s Day collection for the romantics; the maximalists; the minimalists and the non-traditionalists; the best friends; the parents; the grannies; the caregivers and the people in our lives that need a little pick-me-up on what can be a lonely day.
